New Balance Transfer Feature Exclusive to Credit Card Compare

We’re pleased to announce yet another helpful feature on our website that will help you pick the right credit card if you’re doing a balance transfer from an existing card to a new credit card with a new bank. Check out the new balance transfer tool on our credit card comparison pages to see how they’ve been improved!

What Bank Can I Transfer to?

What you might not know is that some banks are grouped together. For example, Citibank is grouped with Suncorp, Bank of Queensland, CUA, IMB and Virgin. Woolworths and HSBC are also one and the same when it comes to balance transfers. What this means is simple. You can still get a new credit card with any these banks, but you need to leave the old credit card open until the balance is paid off – moving your existing balance over to the new credit card is not an option. This is something that’s really important to know before you make that application. And that’s where our latest feature comes into play.

For example, if you have a Citibank credit card and have your eye on the new Suncorp Gold Credit Card then we’ll save you the hassle of being rejected if you wanted to do a balance transfer because you’ll see this information upfront before you apply!

How it Works

It really couldn’t be any more simple to use. Once you’ve chosen the balance transfer credit card you want, go to its offer page (click on its name or ‘more details’ below the application button in any comparison table) and scroll down the page until you see the ‘Balance Transfers’ tab. Click on this tab and you’ll be able to see the banks you can and can’t transfer from. Easy!

Previously Released Features

Recently there have been a spate of new additions to the site, all of which are designed to make it easier for your to compare, review and ultimately apply for a new credit card.
