If you’re looking for a competitive rate, low annual fee card without the frills, this could be the card for you. With the ANZ First Visa credit card you’ll enjoy the simple and standard convenience of visa acceptance at over 24 million locations worldwide and 24/7 Falcon round the clock security for suspicious transactions.

Pros

This card’s greatest draw is its simplicity and low $0 p.a. annual fee. Interest rates on purchases (19.24% p.a.) and cash advances (20.99% p.a.) are comparable to other similar cards. They’re not great rates but if you pay off your card each month and don’t take out cash advances, that’s not a problem!

Additionally, you get to design your own card, you have access to special offers from Visa Entertainment, you get the standard 44 days interest free period on purchases, and if you’re a new applicant, you get to enjoy a very low 0% p.a. balance transfer rate for 3 months.

Cons

With the ANZ First credit card you don’t earn points toward anything, you don’t get emergency card replacement, access to a huge variety of services or 24/7 access to a representative if you need to talk to someone. This card has the basics and offers a low annual fee with standard rates but is certainly limited in the way of fancy features. Saying that, you might not need those things so don’t let that discourage you from a more than adequate card for standard daily use.

Conclusion

ANZ’s First Visa credit card has the security, convenience and rates to give you the support you need to make your everyday purchases & pay bills. The card would work well for the lower income earner who simply needs a credit card for everyday, basic use.
