If you are a frequent flyer, travel often to Asia and like to fly with Singapore Airlines, you could find some very rewarding benefits by selecting a Singapore Airlines credit card linked with the KrisFlyer program. With KrisFlyer you can earn points every time you use your credit card to book flights with Singapore Airlines, and also when you spend with the program partners. This means you can earn points when you fly, book accommodation and vehicle rentals, use affiliated telecommunications services, and a selection of other products, services and outlets.
Singapore Airlines and SilkAir are members the Star Alliance, a network of 26 world-class airlines, each of which offers opportunities for earning and redeeming points. You can use your KrisFlyer points fly to a choice of over 1,000 destinations in more than 170 countries. You can use points to upgrade your seat and travel in added luxury. The KrisFlyer scheme also encompasses a network of over 120 non-airline partners, offering greater options for point earning, and a rolling program of bonus promotions and special offers.
KrisFlyer is a tiered program, so your membership’s benefits increase the more frequently you fly. When you fly you earn Elite Miles, which earn promotion to KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Elite Gold membership tiers, each with an added level of privilege. Silver benefits include a 25% bonus on KrisFlyer miles, priority reservation waitlist, priority airport standby and waived or reduced KrisFlyer service fees. Gold members enjoy the same benefits plus a variety of extra perks including access to Star Alliance Gold Lounge, extra checked-in baggage allowance and priority baggage handling, priority check-in and priority boarding on selected flights.
Q: Do I pay a fee to join KrisFlyer? A: No, there is no enrolment fee for joining the KrisFlyer program when you start to use your Singapore Airlines credit card.
Q: Will my account ever expire? A: Only if you don’t use it. KrisFlyer accounts that are inactive (no miles earning or redeeming) for a period of 18 months from enrolment will expire. If your KrisFlyer account is active it will remain open for a period of 36 months after the last mileage was earned; after these period, the account will expire if there is no further activity.
Q: Can I register again if my previous account has expired? A: Yes, if your account expires you can re-register for a new account, but will be able to use the invalidated points from your previous account.
