Woolworths now offers credit card customers the convenience of Apple Pay

  • Woolworths credit card customers can now use the convenience of Apple Pay
  • This makes Woolworths the first supermarket branded credit card in Australia to integrate with Apple Pay
  • Simply tap your Apple device to pay for, and earn points, on your next shop

Back in 2017, Woolworths Rewards integrated its loyalty card into Apple devices through Apple Wallet.

But now the fresh food people are fast becoming the tech-savvy people and have taken the convenience and hassle-free shopping to the next level.  As of 18 June 2019, cardholders can make convenient and fast purchases using their Woolworths branded credit cards with Apple Pay.

Digital wallets are continuing to grow in popularity as a secure, convenient and hassle-free way to pay for everyday transactions.

A quick trip to Woolies is now as simple as taking your Apple iPhone or Apple watch in store to pay. Or you can use your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad or Mac to make purchases in apps and on websites.

With a quick and easy setup to integrate Apple Pay, cardholders will continue to receive all of the rewards and benefits offered by Woolworths credit cards.

Now that both the Woolworths Credit Card and Rewards cards are available in the Apple Wallet, customers can avoid pulling out their wallet and simply tap their iPhone or Apple Watch to pay for, and earn points, on their next shop.

Why choose a Woolworths branded credit card?

The Woolworths Everyday Platinum Credit Card gives customers 10% off their Woolworths grocery shop once a month on selected dates. And comes with:

  • no annual fee for the first year (low ongoing fee of $49 thereafter).

  • 0% on balance transfers for 14 months.

  • a bonus 5,000 points after your first eligible purchase.

If you are a regular shopper at Woolworths or Safeway supermarkets the rewards can quickly add up. You can save up to $50 every month with 10% off your first shop on selected dates each month. And with your credit card being linked with the Woolworths Everyday Rewards program, you earn points every time you make a purchase. You will earn 2 points per $1 at Woolworths, BIG W, BWS, Dan Murphy’s and Cellarmasters. 3 points per $1 spent on Woolworths brand range of products and a base rate of 1 point per $1 spent on eligible transactions everywhere Visa is accepted.

Every four months, if you earn enough points, you’ll receive a shopping card to spend at Woolworths group stores. 4000 points are equivalent to a $20 Woolworths shopping card.

The benefits of Apple Pay

Woolworths credit cards are not the first credit card to integrate with Apple Pay. As other financial institutions have seen the benefits and convenience that it offers customers too.
