Lombard Credit Cards

Lombard is a division of financial services company Flexigroup Limited. The credit cards it offers focus on long interest-free periods for major purchases from retailers participating in its partner program, although they can be used as standard credit cards for smaller transactions.

Lombard is a division of FlexiGroup Limited, a diversified financial services group which issues credit cards under the Lombard, Skye, Q Card and Once brands, as well as offering payment plans and consumer and commercial leasing.

Formed in 1988, with Harvey Norman as one of its first partner businesses, FlexiGroup operates in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland, and is among the top 200 ASX-listed companies.

Lombard credit cards

Lombard offers two Visa credit cards. Their interest-free periods on purchases are potentially much longer than those found on a standard credit card. They are:

  • Lombard 55 card: Up to 55 days interest free on all purchases, plus up to four years interest free on purchases from a long list of participating Lombard retailers
  • Lombard 180 card: Up to 55 days interest free on all purchases, up to six months interest free on individual purchases of $250 or more, plus up to four years interest free on purchases from a long list of participating Lombard retailers

Very high interest rates on overdue balances

If you cannot fully repay your purchase balance by the due date (i.e. after up to 55 days, or six months, or four years, depending on the card and the purchase type) the interest rate applied to any remaining balance is even higher than the rates found on standard credit cards, approximately 1-5 percentage points higher than a typical high-interest-rate credit card.

The same very high interest rates apply to cash advances, with no interest-free days.

No rewards points or complimentary benefits

Lombard credit cards focus on offering long interest-free periods on purchases, so there are no rewards points or complimentary benefits attached.

Online access

Lombard and FlexiGroup don’t have retail branches, but credit cards can be managed via online banking.

Free ATM access

Lombard credit cards can be used free of charge at RediATMs in all states and territories.

Apple Pay

Lombard credit cards are compatible with Apple Pay, so you can leave your card at home and pay with your iPhone.
