With a head office in Young, South West Slopes Credit Union specialises in providing financial products to its members in the south west slopes area of inland New South Wales, but membership and credit cards are open to anyone.
South West Slopes Credit Union (SWSCU) is a credit union centred on the south west slopes area of inland New South Wales, with a head office in Young. It began operations in 1972, and now has around 15,000 members, about 40 local staff and approximately $100 million in funds under management.
Any Australian resident can become a member of the South West Slopes Credit Union by purchasing a low-cost share, which makes them eligible to apply for a credit card. The share purchase and credit card application can be completed at the same time.
Since internet banking, ATM access and a mobile app are all available, you don’t need to live in the south west slopes area of New South Wales in order to manage your account.
The South West Slopes Credit Union has branches in Young, Cootamundra, Temora and West Wyalong, plus Agencies in Boorowa and Harden.
Its ATMs at branches, with the exception of the West Wyalong ATM, will be closing in 2019, now that its members have nationwide fee-free access to more than 10,000 ATMs owned by the Big Four Banks and a number of smaller banks.
The SWSCU Visa Classic Credit Card has a low interest rate (for a credit card) on both purchases and cash advances, and up to 55 days interest free on purchases.
It is compatible with Apple Pay and Google Pay and Samsung Pay.
