Q&As about the

Q: What is Bendigo Bank?

Bendigo and Adelaide Bank (its full name) was created in 2007 by the merger of two banks which were formerly building societies centred in the two cities named. The bank now has over 400 branches, 2,000 ATMs, more than 6,500 employees and around 1.5 million customers.

Q: How widespread is Bendigo Bank’s branch network?

Bendigo Bank has over 400 branches covering all states and territories, plus an extensive network of agencies.

Q: What’s different about the way Bendigo Bank calculates credit card interest?

Bendigo Bank’s credit card interest charging method is more lenient than that of most banks, in two ways:

  • If the account balance is not paid off in full, interest is charged from the statement date (the end of the billing cycle) not from each purchase transaction date (which could be up to 30 days earlier).
  • Interest is charged on the remaining balance only, not on every purchase transaction occurring during the month. That is, part payments are taken into account and no interest is charged on that part of the balance cleared by a partial payment.
Q: Do I need to do my banking with Bendigo Bank before I can have one of their credit cards?

No. It doesn’t matter who you do your normal banking with. You can have a Bendigo Bank credit card without switching your other bank accounts to them.
